So its been a month. The car is booked in for exhaust alterations in September which only gives me 2 weeks to tackle the front end and all its wonderful flashy features. This timescale isn't ideal however its the only time that Shane can look at the exhaust.
Since the last post I had an aluminium fuel cell made by Guy at AP Metalcraft. Top bloke, top work. The tank is approximately 35 litres so 7 more than a standard mini one. I designed it to sit in a recess on the rear subframe so it will act like a sort of sump to try prevent fuel starvation. I will need to box this tank in and rebuild the bulkhead so to meet the IVA regulations ( this should be interesting).
The regulation states that the tank must be separate from the passenger and luggage compartment for obvious reasons. Also in the event of a leak the fuel must not drip onto a heat source. I will overcome this last point by designing an aluminium tray that will direct any leaks (if any) from the exhaust.
