So there is a very (I hope you can appreciate) brief introduction and story of where I am now. During my placement year I wasn’t able to complete much work, as I was 200 miles away. However through the cold winter breaks I spent as much time on it as possible. Mounting the gearbox to the engine, modifying the Mazda mx5 sub frame to fit the mini mounts, mounting the rear diff in the Mazda frame and looking (worryingly) at the wiring loom.

The electronics have always been in the back of my mind as taking ages and being very difficult. So I thought if I took the whole wiring loom with me back down south and spend the time after work in going through it and sorting out the necessary and unnecessary then surely I would get somewhere.

I always love challenges and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to learn some new skills and research about some common electrical systems for vehicle operation.
