Conservatory

This conservatory is brick built  and was added some time after the original house was built. It has a solid roof and plenty of glass on the walls. Its lovely and warm in summer and not too cold in winter. Everything you want from one.

Early on we noticed a damp spot in the corner of the room and decided as the roof was looking very worn out we would re-felt the roof in hope it would resolve it. Unfortunately it didn't and we scratched our heads and tried to find out what was causing it.

 

A bit later on when I was re painting the exterior brickwork it occurred to me that the render and pointing around the conservatory was in terrible condition. After re-pointing and re-painting, the damp spot disappeared and didn't come back even after heavy rain. Result!

Once resolved we were able to carry on with the renovation with new floor, wood panelling and lick of paint.
