So after finishing my Bachelors at university I still have have the small matter of building the mini to attend to. I will be going back to study a masters in September so don't have too much time to crack on with as much as I can. To start with The exhaust needs to be modified by Shane at STG as the front end is fouling on the first cylinder header leg, causing it to not shut fully. This will allow me to fit a standard front end as originally planned. :)
In the mean time I have been adjusting the door gaps and ensuring they shut correctly. If you have built a mini before you will know what this task involves. :)
As the boot space as changed considerably, the standard fuel tank does not fit in anymore. So I need to get a custom made tank. I have found a local fabricator that has tonnes of experience and an amazing portfolio. So some measuring and sketching is in order, whats that old saying?
"Measure once and cut and weld twice" or is it "Measure twice and cut once" using a hammer as manipulation?!
Anyway here are some pictures to sink your teeth into.
Iam ensuring the tank will meet regulations for the IVA as this is often an area where kit car builders slip up on.
